James E. Whaling

Year Inducted: 1985

Led St. Stephen High School to championships in football, basketball and baseball as running back in football, center in basketball and pitcher in the early 1940's. Won ten varsity letters. In his final football game, he rushed for 224 yards and scored five touchdowns in just eighteen minutes. Batted over .300 every year in high school. Struck out fifteen batters in one game. Very active in Navy sports and community sports after the war.
