Dan O'Brien

In an over 30-year athletic career, avid and accomplished race walker Dan O’Brien has many impressive accomplishments to his credit.

In 1988, Dan finished ninth in the U.S. Track and Field 20K race. He followed that in 1989 with a seventh-place finish at the 1989 Olympic Festival. In 1990, he set a personal best with a time of 1:34.23 at the Alongi Memorial International 20K Race. In 1991, Dan took fourth at the Canada World Cup Trials.

1993 saw a first-place finish in the 20K at the USA Track and Field Regional. Dan finished 15th at the USA World Cup Trials in 1997. He logged another first place win in 2000 at the Ontario 20K Championship.

In 2007, Dan served as the manager of the U.S. team at the Pan-American Games.

More recently, Dan’s finishes included sixth place at the USA Track and Field 30K in both 2015 and 2016, and a tenth place finish in the 50K in 2017.

Dan was a founding member of the Pegasus Athletic Club in southeastern Michigan.
