Nomination Process
Inductees to the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame are nominated by members of the community. All nominations received by the Hall of Fame's Board of Directors are considered for induction. Nomination forms can be submitted at any time and are required to include a photo of the nominee, documentation such as newspaper articles, photographs, score sheets, etc. of the nominee's accomplishments, and other pertinent biographical information.
The Hall of Fame's Board of Directors meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the Hall of Fame Boardroom at St. Clair County Community College. Inductees are selected each year by the Board of Directors at it's June meeting. For a nominee to be considered in the present year, the nomination for induction into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame must be received no later than the first Wednesday of May each year. Names of those not inducted remain on the list for consideration in ensuing years.
Candidates for enshrinement are limited to residents, teams, or groups within the boundaries of the Port Huron Area School District, but a candidate does not have to be a current resident. The person, team, or group must have accomplished feats in or made contributions to sports that are of significant stature to warrant permanent recognition by the citizens of the Port Huron Area.
To nominate a potential candidate for enshrinement, please fill out the form completely and send along with photos, achievements, news articles, and any other supporting material (as much as possible) to: Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 610881, Port Huron, MI 48060.
