1986 Port Huron Northern High School Football Team

Year Inducted: 1993

Were undefeated during the regular season – nine wins and no defeats. This was head coach Craig Dahlke's first year as head coach of the football team. Another first for the Huskies was the clenching of a berth in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Class "A" State football playoffs. In recording it's 9-0 record, the Huskies posted six shutouts. In the first playoff game against state powerhouse Troy High School, the Huskies posted a dramatic 13-7 victory. The huskies, then 10-0, advanced to the Region 3 State Finals against the #1 Class "A" team in the state – Sterling Heights Stevenson High School. Stevenson defeated the Huskies and went on to win the Class "A" State Championship. Captains of the 1986 Huskies included #7 Matt Troy, #74 Jeff Davis, #48 Sean Shagena and #69 Dave Bostater.
