2004 SC4 Women's Volleyball Team

The St. Clair County Community College women’s volleyball squad won every event it competed in during the 2004 season, including the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 2 national title.
The 2004 Skipper team posted a 62-3 record under Coach Terry Gamble, who also coached the 2000 national championship squad. The 2000 team also has been inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame.
SC4, which was ranked No. 1 in the country throughout most of the season, won every invitational it competed in along with the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Conference title, the state championship and regional crown.
At the nationals in Toledo, the Skippers advanced out of pool play to the quarterfinals. They defeated Scottsdale (AZ) Community College in the quarterfinals, Kishwaukee (ILL) Community College in a semifinal match and Dodge City (KS) Community College in the finals.
Eight of the 12 players on the squad went on to play volleyball at four-year universities. Allison Mattox, a Marysville graduate, was selected the regional and national player of the year.
Gamble was assisted by Ray Cornwell, Jr. and Becky Romberg, while Kaitlin Hansen was the student manager.
