Albert 'Bud' Stevenson - Leader, Sponsor, Fan

Arguably the most avid sports fan in the Port Huron area. Bud is a personal fixture at all the adult and youth softball and basketball recreational games. He attends all the SC4 men’s and women’s games and is an honorary member.

Bud served as District 8 Commissioner for Michigan Amateur Softball Association for ten years. As commissioner, he was responsible for all softball games for adult and youth. He was in charge of all aspects of slow pitch, modified and fast pitch softball. Bud was the State Commissioner for Junior Olympics for two years. He has been a manager and a team sponsor for over twenty-five years. It has been said that “Bud” eats, drinks, and sleeps softball. He is a very avid sportsman.

Because of his many years of service to the players and fans of softball. Bud was inducted into the Michigan Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame in 1992.

Mr. Stevenson started an athletic scholarship fund of $500 for any boy or girl as long as he or she is an athlete. He sponsors this project and it is in honor of his wife, Florence.

Bud was a member of Brick Fowler’s first football teams in 1929 and 1930.
