Albert 'Timber' Wolfe - Football

Albert “Timber” Wolfe was the captain of the Washington Junior High School football team that won the state championship in 1922. That championship season Washington Junior High defeated many Class “B” high school teams. At the end of the season, Washington Junior High was challenged by Battle Creek Junior High to a game to declare the state champions.

Washington Junior High School traveled to Battle Creek and defeated Battle Creed Junior High 28-0 to capture the state title. In that game Wolfe scored one touchdown and was recognized as one of the game’s stars.

In 1930 Wolfe returned to the gridiron where he played three seasons for the Port Huron Merchants semi-professional football team.
