Alex J. "Shep" Emerich

Year Inducted: 1983

One of Port Huron's finest golfers, Shep joined Black River Country Club in 1938, won the Port Huron Paint Tournament in 1941 and the Emil Beck Day Class A" Tournament in 1951. In 1952 he won the BRCC Championship and in 1958, he shared the Members Division Championship. A year later, he was runner-up and in 1961, he teamed with Kay Gibbs to win the BRCC Mixed Best-Ball Tourney. An outstanding basketball, baseball and softball player during his school days and well into his adult life.
