Year Inducted: 1982

In April 1977, Ann was honored for her 50th year as an active bowler in the Port Huron Women’s Bowling Association.

She has attended twenty-two Women’s International Bowling Congress tournaments and was an associate delegate at each one of their meetings.  She was vice president of the state association in 1940 and was a delegate to the state association in 1950.

Ann bowled with the Richerts bowling team in the store league for many years. She was a member of the only women’s team to bowl in a Port Huron class “C” men’s league.

She began her bowling career at the old Monarch Bowling Alley, the present site of the McMorran Junior Sports Arena.

Ann is a member of the Bowling Writer’s Association and has had articles published in the National Women Bowler’s Magazine.

Mrs. Mary “Sis” Thornley, herself a member of the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame, said “I’ve known Ann since 1948.  She was very active in the association and got me going to meetings.  We went to state tournaments together and a lot of us went to the nationals when it was in Detroit in 1953.”
