Byron W. "By" Philp

Year Inducted: 1983

A veteran of both World War I and II, he received a Distinguished Service Citation and the Legion of Honor for valor at Anzio as a naval officer. "By" excelled in football, basketball, baseball and track at Port Huron High. He was captain of the 1924 Hillsdale College football team and was chosen the best open field runner in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Renowned as a great competitor on the golf course.
