Carl Beach

Carl was an all-star catcher and hitter on great teams during the Golden Years of Port Huron’s dominance of fast-pitch softball in Michigan.   His career in fast-pitch began in 1952, when he was 18.  In the 1960’s he caught for the champion Shoffner and Richert teams.   For twelve straight years, he finished among the top ten league hitters, leading the league for 1959-65.  He and his five sons played on the same team in recent years.  Carl also excelled as a softball coach, basketball player and bowler.
