Catherine "Katie" Davis

Year Inducted: 1987

Katie was born on November 7, 1912, in Port Huron, Michigan.  She graduated from Port Huron High School and participated in sports throughout her school years.   She was married to the late Harold C. Davis, has two daughters and three grand children.

Katie has been an active participant in women’s bowling for over 40 years.  She has been a winner in the Port Huron City Association tournament as an All-Events Champion and also as a Singles Champion.  Her highest game rolled is 277 and she has had series of 598 and 599.

Katie has held the office of Treasurer of the Port Huron Women’s Bowling Association since 1960 continuously.  She belongs to the “25” Year Club of the Port Huron Women’s Bowling Association, has served on many committees and worked most of the association’s tournaments.

On the state level, she has bowled in the state tournament since the late 1940’s.  Katie belongs to the “25” Year Club of the Michigan Women’s Bowling Association.   She has served on many committees at the state level and was chairperson of the credentials committee for the state convention held in 1983 at St. Clair.

On the national level, Katie has been a delegate to the Women’s International Bowling congress Convention for over 15 years.   In 1986, she will have bowled in 25 WIBC tournaments.

Besides her bowling activities, Katie belongs to Willow Ridge Golf and Ski Club, is active with the March of Dimes, and is on the steering committee for the "Babe Zaharias” golf tournament supporting the cancer society.
