David "Dave" Staiger
(1928–____)

Year Inducted: 1987

A Phi Beta Kappa and Rhodes scholar. He began his football career as an all-league offensive guard and defensive tackle at Port Huron High School. At the University of Wisconsin, he earned two letters and was awarded the Big Ten Medal for Scholarship and Athletic Achievement. Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, he continued his education at Oxford University in England. He worked for the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC and from 1961-63 was a member of Secretary Robert McNamara's "Whiz Kids" in the Defense Department.
