John J. Heering, Jr.

Popular and successful baseball coach at Port Huron High for 25 years. Great punter and pitcher at Port Huron High. Also pitched for Ray Fisher at the University of Michigan. Taught at Jefferson and Garfield Schools before joining staff of PHHS in 1946, where he served as wrestling coach and assistant basketball coach as well as head baseball coach. Was athletic director at Port Huron Central from 1971 until his retirement in 1978.
