Joseph "Joe" Mericka

Year Inducted: 1986

One of Port Huron’s all-time leading golfers, Joe has won ten championships at Black River Country Club and two titles at Port Huron.  He teamed with his father, George, to win several father-son titles.  At St. Clair County Community College, Joe led his team in scoring in both 1967 and 1968, receiving all-state recognition both years.  He continued his college career at Florida Southern University where he finished eleventh in the nation in the NCAA small college competition.

Joe enters the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame with his father, George, the first time a father-son combination has been so honored.
