Thomas "Tom" Tramski

Year Inducted: 1988

Considered to be one of the finest athletes ever to graduate from St. Stephen High School, Tom earned 12 varsity letters.   In his senior year he led the football team to a 6-1-1 record in the St. Clair Area League, and the basketball team to the 1952 District Tournament Championship.   He is complimented by Coach Joseph Yonto as being one of the greatest high school players he has ever coached.

Tom went on to the University of Detroit, where he lettered three years in football, playing both quarterback and defensive safety.  Receiving a B.S. in Education in 1957, he went on to teach and coach for nearly 20 years in the Detroit area.

Coaching all sports at St. Mary’s of Redford High School from 1956 to 1963, his teams played in the City Championship Goodfellow Games 5 of 6 years, winning titles 4 times.   From 1963 through 1966 Tom was head football and basketball coach at Detroit De La Salle, and was named “Coach of the Year” in Detroit for his success in the 1965-66 basketball season.

Tom embarked on a career in business with Mueller Brass in 1966, and for the past 11 years has been associated with Anheuser-Busch, Inc. a company he serves today as Regional Vice-President.
